Rerailer
This heavy duty tool has been specifically designed and built here in the UK to make rerailing of locomotives and rolling stock easier, whilst saving your back! The rerailer tool allows a single person to rerail a vehicle.
This is the improved design, with wider foot print allowing for both on and off track use. Following a derailment, the tool should be placed on the track and the lifting cradle positioned underneath the locomotive buffer beam. Using a length of tube as a lever over the rerailer stub, lift the locomotive up until the wheel flanges are clear of the rail head.
The tool will then allow you to slew the locomotive, allowing careful realignment of wheels over the top of the track. Once aligned, the locomotive can be lowered back down onto the track.
The rerailer can also be used for lifting locomotives and rolling stock up above the rails for blocking, this is especially useful for servicing and repairs.
